Looking for a flexible clinical role with stability of employment status and professional supervision?
Northumberland Child Development Centre (NCDC) is currently seeking a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our Clear Communicators program, supporting children and youth from birth to 18 years of age with speech, language, and social communication needs.
This is a fee-for-service employment position (not independent contractor), offering flexible and variable hours to support work-life balance. CPP, EI, and 4% vacation pay are employer-remitted, and income tax is deducted at source.
Administrative support is provided for scheduling and documentation, allowing CDAs to focus on direct therapy delivery.

Compensation:
- $45 per completed Therapy Session
- Employment-based fee-for-service agreement

In This Role You Will:
- Implement individualized therapy programs developed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Provide direct therapy to children and youth as assigned by the supervising SLP
- Support the development of speech, language, and communication skills through structured intervention activities
- Collect session data and report on client progress
- Participate in collaborative care planning with the supervising SLP
- Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with organizational standards
- Communicate effectively with families within the scope of assigned therapy activities Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision
All therapy services are provided under the direction and supervision of a registered Speech-Language Pathologist in accordance with CASLPO guidelines. The supervising SLP:- Determines client appropriateness for CDA-delivered therapy
- Develops and assigns therapy programming
- Provides ongoing direction and feedback
- Monitors client progress and outcomes
- Maintains professional accountability for all delegated services

Qualifications:
- Completion of a Communicative Disorders Assistant diploma program
- Experience working with children and youth preferred
- Demonstrated ability to follow clinical programming and direction
- Commitment to family-centred and strengths-based service delivery
