Northumberland Child Development Centre (NCDC) is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our family-centred, interdisciplinary team providing services to children and youth from birth to 18 years of age.

This position offers the flexibility of a fee-for-service compensation model within an employment agreement. Unlike independent contractor roles, this position includes mandatory employment benefits, with employer remittances for CPP and EI, 4% vacation pay, and income tax deductions at source.

The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide assessment and intervention services for children and youth presenting with a range of speech, language, and social communication needs. Services are delivered in a supportive, team-based environment with administrative infrastructure in place to assist with scheduling and clinical documentation.

Hours of work are variable and scheduling is flexible, allowing clinicians to establish a workload that aligns with their availability and professional preferences.

Compensation

  • $185 per completed Speech-Language Assessment
  • $90 per completed Therapy Session
  • Employment-based fee-for-service agreement
  • CPP and EI employer remittances paid
  • 4% vacation pay provided
  • Income tax deducted at source

In This Role You Will:

  • Conduct speech and language assessments for children and youth (birth to 18 years)
  • Develop individualized, family-centred treatment plans
  • Provide direct therapy services based on assessed needs
  • Supervise and assign therapy programming to a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) in accordance with CASLPO guidelines
  • Use clinical judgment to determine which clients receive direct SLP intervention and which may appropriately receive delegated therapy services from a CDA
  • Monitor client progress and modify intervention plans as needed
  • Participate in collaborative service planning with families and interdisciplinary team members
  • Maintain clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards

CDA Supervision Responsibilities Include:

  • Assigning and monitoring delegated therapy activities
  • Ensuring therapy plans implemented by the CDA align with assessment findings and clinical
  • goals
  • Providing ongoing direction, feedback, and outcome monitoring
  • Maintaining professional accountability for all delegated services as per CASLPO supervision standards

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Experience working with children and youth is preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to family-centred, strengths-based service delivery
