The Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters Membership (OFAH Membership) is seeking an Engagement Project Specialist to support the delivery of key community engagement programs, partnerships, and initiatives.
Reporting to the Community Engagement Coordinator, this position is responsible for leading and supporting projects such as TackleShare, Ontario Family Fishing Events, controlled waterfowl hunts, the Ontario Record Fish Registry, and the NXT-GEN Ambassador program, while contributing to partner relations, communications, reporting, and program growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Program Delivery & Special Projects:
- Deliver community engagement programs including TackleShare, Ontario Family Fishing Events, Under the Lock, and the Ontario Record Fish Registry
- Lead coordination of controlled waterfowl hunts, including logistics, partner relations, fundraising, and reporting
- Support the NXT-GEN Ambassador program and contribute to additional projects as required
- Coordinate communications, logistics, supply distribution, data collection, and reporting for assigned programs
Partnerships, Outreach & Communications:
- Build and maintain relationships with partners, sponsors, volunteers, government agencies, and the public
- Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to support promotions, storytelling, and program visibility
- Represent OFAH at events, trade shows, and public engagements, including presentations and outreach activities
- Respond to internal and external inquiries and support broader organizational communication efforts
Administration, Finance & Team Leadership:
- Track and manage project budgets, process invoices, and support financial reporting across programs
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise seasonal employees (waterfowl hunts) and support volunteers
- Contribute to funding opportunities, cross-program collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support planning, reporting, and administrative functions across the Community Engagement Program
What We’re Looking For:
Education:
Post-secondary education in:
- Biology
- Fish & Wildlife
- Environmental Science
- Natural Resources Management
- Outdoor Recreation
- Or a related field of study
Skills & Experience:
You bring:
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Experience supervising employees or volunteers
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills
- Strong time management, problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
Assets (nice to have):
- Project management and supervisory experience
- Experience delivering community programs or outdoor events
- Budget tracking or administrative experience
- Personal interest in hunting, fishing, and conservation

Work Environment & Requirements:
This role includes both office, field, and event-based work. You should be comfortable with:
- Working outdoors in all weather (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Some evening and weekend work
- Travel across Ontario
- Lifting 50–100 lbs with assistance
You must have or be able to obtain:
- Valid Class G driver’s licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Fishing licence
- Pleasure craft operator’s card
- Emergency First Aid with Level A CPR & AED (as a minimum)
- OFAH membership (required at time of hire)
- Criminal record check (required every three years)
Assets:
- Outdoors Card with accredited hunter
- Non-restricted firearms licence (PAL)
