We are currently looking to hire 2 to 3 nursing students to support a female client residing in a Long-Term Care (LTC) home in Athens.
Shift Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Sunday, 20:30 to 08:00 (overnight)
- Role Overview: These are awake shifts, but the LTC facility staff handle all direct medical and personal care. The student's primary responsibilities are assisting the client with ambulatory needs during the night and providing gentle redirection if she experiences confusion.
- Client Preference: At the request of the client and her family, we are seeking a female caregiver.
This position offers wonderful hands-on experience in a supportive environment, making it a great fit for students looking to build their healthcare skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the elderly, convalescents, or persons with disabilities with daily living activities at the person's home or in a care facility.
- Duties performed at a place of residence may include keeping house (making beds, doing laundry, washing dishes) and preparing meals.
- May provide assistance at non-residential care facilities. May advise families, the elderly, convalescents, and persons with disabilities regarding such things as nutrition, cleanliness, and household activities.
- Administer bedside or personal care, such as ambulation or personal hygiene assistance.
- Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor.
- Care for individuals or families during periods of incapacitation, family disruption, or convalescence, providing companionship, personal care, or help in adjusting to new lifestyles.
- Perform healthcare-related tasks, such as monitoring vital signs and medication, under the direction of registered nurses or physiotherapists.
- Instruct or advise clients on issues such as household cleanliness, utilities, hygiene, nutrition, or infant care.
