Machine Feeders / Wire Cutters - Advantage Personnel Ltd

The Wire Cutting Associate is responsible for accurately measuring, cutting, labelling, and preparing wire and cable orders for shipment, customer pickup, and internal transfers. This role requires strong attention to detail, accurate measurements, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy warehouse environment.

Role details:

• Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday
• Morning Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Afternoon Shift: 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
• Must be flexible to work both shifts
• Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Review sales orders, transfer documents, and picking tickets to confirm product requirements
• Verify wire type, gauge, colour, quantity, and required length before cutting
• Accurately measure and cut wire and cable to specified lengths
• Safely operate wire-cutting equipment after completing required training
• Label, coil, package, and secure completed wire and cable orders
• Inspect wire and cable for visible damage or defects before processing
• Handle product carefully to prevent damage
• Record cut lengths and update inventory information as required
• Maintain accurate order and inventory documentation
• Support accurate and timely order fulfillment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe wire-cutting area
• Communicate shortages, damaged product, equipment concerns, or order discrepancies to the supervisor
• Work cooperatively with warehouse team members to support daily operations
• Follow all company safety procedures, work instructions, and operating requirements
• Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Previous warehouse, material handling, production, or wire-cutting experience considered an asset
• Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Able to read and interpret product descriptions, measurements, sales orders, and picking documents
• Basic math skills, including working with measurements and fractions
• Able to safely operate wire-cutting equipment after training
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and professional attitude
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Criminal background check required
• CSA-approved safety footwear required

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift, carry, push, and pull wire and cable products weighing 50 lbs. or more
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Able to frequently bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks
• Able to handle products of varying weights and sizes using proper lifting techniques or material-handling equipment
• Able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety footwear, gloves, and eye protection
