Security Guards - The Commissionaires

Commissionaires Kingston is looking to augment our active Casual Guard Roster to meet demand for Event Security and urgent requests for guard services. Selected candidates will be trained to work at various active sites.

Role Details:

• Guards on our Casual Roster can apply for Full-time positions as they come available.
• Potential hours: up to 40 per week
• Hours of Work: Variable based on site requirements, Contracts normally include a requirement for overnight/midnight and weekend shift availability.

Responsibilities:

• Provide access control, patrols, monitoring, and reporting as assigned per site 
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity 
• Enforce site-specific rules, regulations, and procedures 
• Respond appropriately to incidents, alarms, and emergencies 
• Complete accurate and timely reports and log entries 
• Interact professionally with clients, staff, and members of the public 
• Report hazards, safety concerns, or suspicious activity promptly 
• Work shifts at multiple locations as assigned by scheduling staff 
• Perform additional duties as required by supervisors or management

Applicants must:

• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR certification
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Requirements:

To be eligible for consideration for this position, you must have the following qualifications:

• Clean Criminal Record / CPIC check  
• Clean vulnerable Sector Check and Clean Driver's Abstract may be required 
• Ability to stand or patrol for extended periods 
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel between multiple sites
• Proof of qualifications will be required.
