A Trainer role at Conquer Fitness Education Inc. is an entry-level position for anyone looking to build a career in the fitness industry and is passionate about health and fitness education. Trainers will be able to gain confidence and experience training private and semi-private sessions as well as leading targeted group classes. Trainers will also support CFE Inc’s educational workshops, marketing practices, and facility maintenance.

With time and strong performance, Trainers become eligible for CFE Inc.’s Mentorship Program, a structured pathway towards becoming a Fully Independent Personal Trainer for CFE Inc.

What You'll Do:

Group Training

  • Instruct safe, engaging and inclusive group classes in line with CFE Inc. programming standards.
  • Demonstrate exercises clearly, give concise coaching cues, monitor technique and effort, and offer modifications based on client experience level and ability.
  • Prepare for each class by creating a class outline, arriving on time to set up necessary equipment, and complete required post-class documentation.
  • Greet clients and discuss their individual needs.

Private and Semi-Private Personal Training

  • Conduct consultations with prospective clients to introduce CFE Inc. services and discuss their needs and goals.
  • Complete client intake, including required documentation and screening, as well as assessing client’s abilities and health considerations.
  • Build a complete fitness regimen tailored to each client's goals and needs.
  • Adapt each regimen over time, applying progressions and regressions based on client response and progress.
  • Help build a welcoming, respectful and motivating environment that keeps members coming back.

General

  • Keep the training space clean, organized and safe, including cleaning equipment, tidying and storing gear, and reporting hazards or equipment concerns promptly.
  • Assist with the delivery of CFE Inc. workshops on various fitness and wellness related topics, including supporting set up, performing demonstrations and following up with attendees.
  • Support promotional activities, including social media content, and website photo/video content.
  • Represent CFE Inc. professionally and consistently with our values and brand.
  • Help build a welcoming, respectful and motivating environment that keeps members coming back.

Growth Opportunity:

Trainers who demonstrate reliability, strong coaching skills and a commitment to learning are eligible to apply for the CFE Inc. Mentorship Program after a period of time in the role. It is a 12-month paid pathway with training in semi-private and private training, workshop development and business skills, leading to senior trainer status.

What We're Looking For:

  • A personal training certification recognized in Canada (for example: CSEP, canfitpro or equivalent.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
  • Some experience in fitness, coaching, teaching or client service is preferred.
  • Post-secondary study or interest in kinesiology, exercise science, fitness and health promotion, or a related field is an asset
  • Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • A growth mindset and a willingness to take feedback
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends.
  • Current WHMIS certification and a police background check.

Physical Requirements

This role is fully on-site. It involves demonstrating exercises, standing and moving for extended periods, and setting up, moving and storing training equipment. Reasonable accommodation will be provided in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code.
