Facilities is now hiring three (3) Caretakers on a one year term basis to join the Custodial Support Services Team. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to speak, read and write in basic English (Level 4 Canadian Language Benchmark for applicants whose first language is not English – must be provided).
• Willingness and ability to understand and follow instructions
• Mechanical skills to clean and set-up equipment like a floor cleaning machine
• Must be willing and able to work in a team environment that respects the point of view of others
• Willingness and ability to work with people at all levels (e.g., front line staff, managers, senior administrators, etc.)
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must be physically capable of performing the above-noted duties.*

Major Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment in and near assigned buildings
• Sweep, vacuum, dust-mop, damp-mop, spot clean, wash walls and remove garbage in the following areas:
• Vestibules/Entrances
• Lobbies
• Corridors
• Elevators
• Escalators
• Stairwells (Primary & Secondary)
• Cafeterias
• Move furniture
• Operate a variety of floor care machinery
