Architectural Technologist - Shoalts and Zaback Architects Ltd.

We are looking for a full-time Architectural Technologist to join our design team for an in-person position.

Our extensive portfolio includes a wide variety of project types and sizes, ranging in value from $50,000 to $70 million. Our office is a bright, open, collaborative work environment located in the historic 19th-century Woolen Mill overlooking the Kingston waterfront.

Qualifications

• Architectural Technologist with at least 5 years of relevant working experience (Advanced Diploma minimum 3 years in Architectural Technology is required)
• Strong AutoCAD and Revit skills.
• Solid technical skills with the ability to prepare construction documents for a wide variety of building types
• In-depth knowledge of building science
• Understanding of the Ontario Building Code
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
• Ability to meet deadlines and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in a studio environment
• Ability to qualify for CPIC and security clearances required for government work
• Knowledge of 3D rendering programs is an asset
• Must be a team player

Duties / Responsibilities

• Measure and document the as-found conditions of existing buildings
• Participate in and run meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities
• Prepare construction documents, including developing details and writing specifications
• Coordinate the work of other disciplines including engineers, planners, and interior designers
• Building Code and zoning analysis and reports
• Construction administration tasks including site review, shop drawing review, and processing all paperwork associated with construction administration
• Cost estimating for project budgets is an asset.
