The Loughborough Inn has a history of over 100 years. It has been a host to anglers from all over North American who have have enjoyed what Loughborough lake has to offer. It continues to evolve to meet the demands of an ever changing clientele. The inn has twenty cabins for rent during a season that runs from Mid-May to Mid -October. The cabins comfortably appointed and spaced apart to offer privacy and tranquility. Guest enjoy the comfort of the inn for meals, relaxation and social gatherings.

Looking for a well rounded cook to join our team. The individual should have well rounded skills in all areas of the culinary trade such as but not limited to preparing, cooking and plating meals, portion control, consistency in plate presentation, inventory and food waste controls, supply ordering, and maintaining the kitchen area following all prescribed health and safety regulations. Ability to work independently or/ team environment. Experience as a breakfast cook and baking skills considered an asset.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Candidate will be responsible for preparing everything from soups, sauces, entrees and desserts

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be highly organized
  • Capable of performing all aspects of food preparation
  • Must be friendly and pleasant in dealing with staff and customers
  • Dedicated to delivering great customer service
  • Must be comfortable with decision making, have initiative and be innovative
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Chef papers are appreciated but not required(we are willing to train)
  • Food Safe, Safe Check, Food Handler or equivalent (Required)
  • Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)


Full Job Description

LOCATION (north of Kingston on Montreal St/Battersea Rd)

Battersea, Ontario- 19 km north of Hwy 401

SEASONAL POSITION - August to  mid October

HOURS OF WORK

  • Must be able to work day, evening and weekend shifts (Sunday through Saturday)
  • Shifts are 8 hours

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 2 months

Salary: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement: French not required

Schedule: 8 hour shift, Holidays, Monday to Saturday, Overtime

Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay, Tips

Ability to commute/relocate: Battersea, ON K0H 1H0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience: Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification: Food Safe, Safe Check, Food Handler or equivalent (required)
