Opportunity

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT): We are seeking an RVT with a passion for shelter medicine to assist in shelter animal care. This position, both challenging and rewarding, is suitable for those who love to work in a fast-paced and structured environment.

Status: Part-time, Permanent

Location: Leeds & Grenville Animal Centre, Brockville ON

A Typical Day

  • Welcoming clients and their pets.
  • Providing exceptional care, comfort and compassion for our animals during their stay.
  • Monitoring the physical health and behavioural needs of each animal in our care.
  • Assuring the physical health and mental well-being of animals in foster care.
  • Coaching and training shelter staff on Shelter Health and Wellness concepts and protocols.
  • Prepares and administers medications and vaccines under the direction of the veterinarian.
  • Provides clients with care plans and responds to medical care related questions.
  • General house-keeping duties.
  • General administrative duties including the maintenance of accurate health records.

Do You Have What it Takes?

  • Validation of being a Registered Veterinary Technician
  • Passion for shelter medicine
  • 1-4 years of experience as a veterinary technician, preferably within a high-volume animal clinic
  • Administrative experience an asset
  • Valid G drivers’ license with the ability to provide a clear driver’s abstract
