Raise Recruiting is hiring a Field Support - Summer Student for our client, one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This position is a four (4)-month contract and candidate can be located in Kingston, Deux River, Pembroke, Stittsville or Ottawa, Ontario. We are actively seeking talented professionals like you to drive these crucial initiatives forward.
Description
The Field Support - Summer Student will have knowledge and experience in the Gas Industry to support daily maintenance and operation activities. This individual has the proven skills, competencies, and capacity to safely assist in the maintenance and operation activities in the area.
What you’ll do:
- Housekeeping at the facilities and stations
- Assisting in (non-hazardous) mechanical maintenance
- Assisting in Pipeline tasks
- Line marking
- Valve service
- Record keeping and print/file retention
- Entry level light labor (painting, janitorial work)
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Experience in the Gas Industry an asset.
- Exhibit a safety mindset, in a professional and personal setting.
- Enrollment at an accredited university/ technical trade college and returning to school for at least one semester following your work term.
- Must exhibit safety, responsibility, integrity, innovation, and collaboration into work activities and initiatives.
- Ability to handle sensitive or confidential material.
- Legally entitled to work in country by way of citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work permit
- Strong interpersonal and communicative skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
- Committed to building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to accurately analyze information and deal with ambiguity.
- Experience working in a dynamic and challenging environment, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills
- Reflective and committed to continuous improvement and personal development.
