Drafter & Estimator - Fines Design & Consulting

This role prepares detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for buildings and structures according to needs of the client

Fines Design & Consulting works primarily with Residential customers design Single & Multi-Family homes as new construction and renovations. Additionally, we participate in managing construction projects being executed by our sister company. 

Role and Responsibilities:

• Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment [Softplan] to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms, and records.
• Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.
• Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
• Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
• Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
• Work through cost estimates for material supply of verious project types
• Visit job sites for measuring and documenting of status of construction projects
• Monitor and track ongoing construction projects including site visits and progress reporting
• Work in conjuntion with our material supply businesses on other material estimating needs

Technical Skills:

• Softplan design and estimating software to develop drawings and 3D models where required
• Energy efficiency building modelling
