We are seeking an ambitious new graduate to join our Kingston team with the goal of progressing to the role of Senior Accountant within a few years. As a prospective team member, you will be responsible for Accounts Payable and Payroll processing, general cost accounting support, and other office duties.

Essential Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Process purchase orders into the company financial system daily.
  • Process weekly AP payments.
  • Ensure invoices are approved and correct before processing payments.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, past due invoices and other items as needed.
  • Review vendor statements and ensure all invoices are processed.
  • Prepare data for month-end AP accrual.
  • Set up new vendors and maintain vendors records.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding invoices and payments.

General Cost Accounting Support

  • Monitor monthly expenses and cost saving initiatives.
  • Support operation team on executing cost saving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Senior Account on monitor and update product costs.

Payroll

  • Administer all payroll functions for timely and accurate payments.
  • Manage data collection, processing, and verification of biweekly payroll.
  • Oversee weekly timesheets.
  • Identify and resolve payroll issues.
  • Administer employee health insurance, benefit and savings plans (RRSP Matching).

Misc. Duties

  • Coordinate order and delivery of office supplies.
  • Coordinate monthly processing of travel and expense reports.
  • Support documentation on operational training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor/Associate degree required.
  • Experience working with JD Edward preferred.
  • 1+ years of AR/AP/Admin experience is preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organization.
  • Proficiency with financial software and Excel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse, and rapidly changing environment.
