Civil Engineer Technician - Eastern Welding

The Construction Project Coordinator/Estimator, has a variety of responsibilities that support everyday operations of the company. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: working closely with Project Managers and colleagues to complete tasks as required. Tasks include construction estimating, scheduling, project planning, quality management, and technical writing.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing structural/mechanical/process drawings and specifications and preparing material take-offs
• Acquiring and coordinating information as necessary to develop an accurate quotation.
• Recommending and explaining estimates to customers
• Handling drawings, sketches, addendums, specifications and preparing estimates on a regular basis.
• Communicating decisions with clients (both internal and external).
• Assisting Project Mangers with change orders.
• Completing Shop Drawings upon completion of Construction Projects.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary: College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or University Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Requires focus on accuracy, compliance, process improvement and efficiency.
• Excellent time management and established procedures for tracking time sensitive tasks
• Good command of English, spoken and written is essential.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, & AutoCAD.
• Willing to learn new tasks and expand scope of responsibilities.
• Cordial, positive, diligent and attentive to detail.

Experience:

• Construction trades environment for 3 years, preferably in an industrial setting or recent graduate from a Civil Engineering Technology program.
