Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Oasis On-site Coordinator will perform a variety of administrative and program delivery duties relevant to the day-to-day operations of Oasis, an older adult driven community-based program that exists in communities across Canada. The incumbent will act with a high degree of independence and autonomy in working in a specified Oasis site, providing daily administrative support and program coordination, including working with Oasis members and supporting research and evaluation activities. Responsibilities will include maintaining safe practice standards and following all protocols. The incumbent will also be responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies, tracking site budget, maintaining the activity program for Oasis members, preparing regular reports to the Oasis Research Team, and liaising with community organizations in support of partnership development.

  • Three-year post-secondary program in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of three years experience working in a community environment with group facilitation and community engagement for older adults and knowledge of older adult issues and local community resources is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with older adults and/or persons with disabilities is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience organizing multi-stakeholder programs and/or an understanding of aging-in-place models is considered an asset.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR training required.
  • Fluency in American Sign Language is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is required.
  • Safe Food Handler training is considered an asset.
  • Training and experience in conflict resolution is considered an asset.
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
