Reporting to the Executive Director, Development, Faculty of Arts and Science, the Donor Engagement Officer is responsible for developing and executing stewardship strategies and activities to strengthen the relationship between the Faculty of Arts and Science's major donors and their philanthropic interests. The Donor Engagement Officer works closely with the primary solicitors and project leads to engage with donors and implement stewardship strategies. They also collaborate with the Faculty of Arts and Science Advancement team and the Central Advancement Donor Experience team to ensure the effective implementation of stewardship strategies and adherence to policies and guidelines. Strong project management skills are essential for this role to manage various projects, events, processes, and initiatives.
The Donor Engagement Officer will be at the forefront of our strategic development programs. The role will involve recommending, creating, and implementing essential elements of these programs. This includes developing and executing goals and strategies to maximize funding for our priorities. They will also be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and recommending approaches for building and strengthening relationships with our current and potential donors.

The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work variable hours on a regular basis, including evenings and weekends. This position is subject to the Averaging provisions of the USW Local 2010 Collective Agreement.

Required Education
- Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Required Experience
- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
- Knowledge of relationship building, fundraising and stewardship considered an asset.
- Experience planning, coordinating and/or managing events or promotions considered an asset.
- Previous experience building relationships with donors considered an asset.
- Experience in data, trend analysis and reporting considered an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards and/or guidelines considered an asset.
- Experience in planning and/or managing projects considered an asset.
Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
