Your education level will determine your classification and your student rate of pay :

  • College and CEGEP Pre-University (SU-02)

Your starting rate of pay may vary based on your education level, the position and the market salary of the region.

The tasks vary according to the position and key functions may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Communicating with stakeholders, and providing information or advice.
  • Conducting research of tax law and audit, administrative and operational policies and procedures.
  • Obtaining and analyzing financial and non-financial information.
  • Explaining various social programs administered by the CRA.
  • Delivering various human resources and administrative support services.
  • Delivering the operation of IT Infrastructure, products, solutions and service.

On-Site Work Requirement

Employees are required to work on-site at a CRA-approved location for a minimum of three days per week or 60% of their regular monthly work schedule. Individual exceptions may be granted based on individual circumstances and the nature of the work being performed.

Various Language Requirements

Most jobs will require you to work only in English or French. Some positions may require you to be able to work in both official languages. Candidates will have the opportunity to specify for which language requirements they wish to be considered.

Who can apply?

  • In order to be considered, you must:
  • Live in Canada OR be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living abroad; AND,
  • Be a student who is enrolled in full-time* studies at a recognized or authorized** Canadian post-secondary institution.

For Winter 2025, Summer 2025 and Fall 2025 positions:

  • For a typical student, to be eligible for winter and fall semesters, the student must be enrolled full-time (or part-time due to a disability) in a recognized school during that semester, unless they are completing their final semester. For the summer (i.e. not going to school during that semester), the student must be enrolled full-time (or part-time due to a disability) in a recognized school during the summer and/or the following fall, unless they are completing their final semester. For any special circumstances, reach out to us by email.
  • Please note that a proof of enrollment will be requested if you receive a conditional offer of employment.
  • *Students enrolled on a part-time status due to a disability, as recognized by the educational institution, or students enrolled part-time during their last semester, are also considered eligible for employment as a student at the CRA.
  • ** To be employed as a CRA student, your post-secondary institution must be identified as either recognized or authorized on the The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials website.
  • If you are a student with a work/study permit, you may apply. However, preference will be given to Veterans, Canadian citizens and permanent residents who meet the staffing requirements in that order.
